Home Loan EMI Calculator — Calculate Your Monthly Payment Instantly

Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions most people make. Before applying for a loan, it helps to know exactly what your monthly commitment will look like. Our Home Loan EMI Calculator allows you to instantly estimate your monthly EMI, total interest payable, and complete loan repayment schedule.

Simply enter your loan amount, interest rate, and loan tenure to see your monthly EMI, the total interest payable over the loan tenure, the total amount repaid to the lender, and a detailed month-by-month amortization schedule. This calculator helps you compare different loan scenarios and choose a repayment structure that fits comfortably within your budget.

What is a Home Loan EMI?

An EMI (Equated Monthly Instalment) is the fixed amount you pay every month to repay your home loan. Each EMI is made up of two components: Principal — the portion that reduces your original loan amount, and Interest — the amount charged by the lender for providing the loan.

In the early years of a long-term loan such as a mortgage, a large portion of your EMI goes toward interest payments. As the outstanding balance reduces over time, the principal component gradually increases. Understanding this structure helps borrowers make better decisions about loan tenure, repayment strategy, and prepayments.

Example: Home Loan EMI Calculation

  • Loan Amount: ₹2 Crore   Interest Rate: 7% per year   Tenure: 30 years
  • Monthly EMI: approximately ₹1,33,060
  • Total Amount Repaid: approximately ₹4.79 Crore
  • Total Interest Paid: approximately ₹2.79 Crore
This example shows how longer tenures reduce the monthly EMI but increase the total interest paid over the life of the loan.

Factors That Affect Your Home Loan EMI

  • Loan Amount — the higher the loan amount, the higher the EMI
  • Interest Rate — even a small change in interest rates can significantly affect your EMI and total interest paid
  • Loan Tenure — a longer tenure reduces your monthly EMI but increases the overall interest cost
  • Credit Profile — borrowers with stronger credit histories are more likely to receive competitive interest rates from lenders

Why Use a Home Loan EMI Calculator?

A home loan calculator helps you estimate your monthly mortgage payment, compare different loan tenures and interest rates, understand your principal vs interest repayment, and plan your finances before applying for a loan. Using a calculator before approaching lenders allows you to make more informed borrowing decisions.
